The Calmus Vocal Ensemble will be performing “Vocal Journey,” a program of international choral music bridging early German, English, Spanish and modern selections including selections from Sting, Michael Jackson, Eric Idle and Bobby McFerrin... something for everyone.
Not limiting themselves to traditional repertoire, they bring with them a series of their own arrangements as well as commissioned works in their repertoire. Apart from a cappella music, they take active interest in breaking down barriers in the periods from the Baroque to experimental Jazz.
Calmus brings whatever they sing, from medieval to contemporary, to glorious life. Whether it be music of the Gregorian period, Bach, Verdi, contemporary music, or, the great variety of music extending from madrigals to folksongs or rock – the ensemble from Leipzig are at home in all styles but add their own personal touch with flawless technique.
