All aboard for the train show
Train enthusiasts will enjoy.
The 22nd Annual Winter Train Show and Exhibition, sponsored by the Great South Bay Model Railroad Club, Inc., is planned for Sunday, January 8, at the Freeport Recreation Center, 130 East Merrick Road, Freeport, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The theme of the show is to introduce the hobby of model railroading in all its phases: operating, collecting, scale-model building and modular railroading.
The space available for dealers and exhibitors is limited, so tables and areas will be given out by invitation only. Preference will be given to those dealers and exhibitors who have helped to make the previous years’ shows such a success.
A raffle will be held with two prizes. The first is a Lionel Train Set donated by Nassau Hobby Center, 13 West Merrick Road, Freeport. The second is an HO train set donated by Trainville Hobby Depot.
The holiday season usually begins on a “train fever” and as a result, the club expects this show to continue to be an exciting event for both dealers and exhibitors, as well as spectators.
