You are invited to Merrick’s Man and Woman of the Year dinner
Come down and meet those that serve our community.
As a sign of the new year, the Merrick Chamber of Commerce will host its 2012 installation dinner on Thursday, January 26, at the Chateau Briand.
Along with the formalities of inducting their new officers, the chamber and Merrick Life newspaper will honor the winners of their joint award, Merrick’s Man and Woman of the Year. This year’s honorees are Alphonse “Al” Lage and Miriam “MeMe” Wanderman. Both have served the community in a variety of positions as volunteers, giving back to the Merricks.
Mr. Lage is noted not only for his work with the Merrick Chamber of Commerce but his overall philanthrophy and support of charitable organizations in and around town. Mrs. Wanderman is a current member of the Merrick Library Board of Trustees, but also a volunteer for the PTA for more years than her children attended the schools.
The community is invited to attend this dinner. Tickets are $65 per person and tables of 10 are available for purchase. Reservations are requested by January 17.
