Hosts a spaghetti dinner for special friends.

Bellmore Knights of Columbus has a big night
REALLY COOKIN’: The Knights cooked up a storm of tasty food.

by Dan Robinson

Bellmore Knights of Columbus in Bellmore played host to over 200 of its special friends recently from schools such as AHRC, the Association to Help Challenged  Children;  ACDS, the association for children with down syndrome; and CDD, Children with Developmental Disabilities from all over  Nassau County.

The boys from the Knights of Columbus were busy in the kitchen preparing the spaghetti and meatballs. Once the food was done, the ladies associated with the K of C, along with the Boy Scouts Troops 580 and 285, went from table to table with trays of food along with pitchers of soda to anyone who wanted a drink.

A big thank you to Lakewood Bakery   once again for its bread donations. Guests then listened to the almost live music of MyMyMy and his rockin’ accordion. The dance floor was pretty crowded. God bless those young adults.

After dinner the fruit cups were passed around for dessert, and before long our friends were putting on their jackets ready to go back home. Once again a special thanks to the ladies and gentlemen of the Knights of Columbus in Bellmore, the Boy Scout Troops 580 and 280, and the grand knight of the Bellmore Council, Robert Taylor, who made a whole lot of people happy.

Dan Robinson is co-chairman of the annual K of C spaghetti dinner.
