  1. Merrick Lifes Person of the year

I would like to suggest, posthumously, Mr. Bill Halleran. He was a devoted member of the Merrick community. His service to his country, Pearl Harbor survivor. His years of service to his and Mrs. Hallerans church, Merrick Methodist Chur...ch. Over 50 years as a volunteer for North Merrick Fire Department. Active Member of American Legion Post 1282. Member of Veterans Of Foreign Wars. Member of the Masons. He devoted many hours educating our children in our local schools about his experience in the Navy during the Attack on Pearl Harbor. Mr. Halleran was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend and neighbor. I cannot think of a more deserving person to bestow this honor on.
