Vikings honor their talented students.

SHS athletic stars

SHS Football Team were scholar-athletes.

Proving that they are high performers in the classroom as well as the athletic field, Seaford High School athletes from every fall varsity team were named Scholar-Athletes by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA). To receive the honor, a team must have an academic average of 90 or higher.

“We are very proud of our athletes for demonstrating strong academic averages while successfully meeting the demands of playing a sport,” said Seaford School District’s Director of Athletics Tom Condon. “Their ability to balance both athletics and academics is a skill that will serve them well not only in school but throughout their lives.”

The honor was bestowed on all seven fall varsity athletic teams, or about 84 students who will each receive a Scholar-Athlete pin from NYSPHSAA. Seaford High School will also be presented with a certificate from the association.

Congratulations to the following athletic teams and coaches: Boys Cross Country, coached by Ed Trentowski; Girls Cross Country, coached by Ed Trentowski; Field Hockey, coached by Trisha Foley; Football, coached by Rob Perpall; Boys Soccer, coached by Ralph Pascarella; Girls Soccer, coached by Suzanne Mooney and Girls Volleyball, coached by Marie Savage.
