Every year the Purick family lights the tree of hope in the pocket park named for them.

The Purick Tree Lighting kicked off holiday happenings in Merrick this past weekend. Above, Santa visits with Jamie and Kerry Gallagher, and daughters Jade and Marin, as Connie Purick looks on.
