Kindergarten registration coming
Merrick Schools gear up for a new group of students.
The Birch, Chatterton and Norman J. Levy Lakeside Elementary Schools of the Merrick School District will hold registration for the September kindergarten class from Monday, January 23-Thursday, January 27.
Children who will reach the age of five on or before December 1, 2012, are eligible. To register a child, parents are requested to call their neighborhood school between the hours of 10 a.m.-2 p.m. to make an appointment. If you are unsure of your child’s neighborhood school, then call the transportation office at 992-7285.
On the day of registration, bring your child, and the original birth or baptismal certificate (with a raised seal of either document). Also bring with you health forms signed by your physician, indicating the completion of all required immunizations.
In order to substantiate your residency, you must bring a deed or a lease, plus a driver’s license, and telephone, LIPA, Keyspan and cable bills.
At the meeting you will be asked to complete a student registration card. You can find a copy of this registration card on the website at www.merrick-k6.org. If you need information, contact your child’s neighborhood school of attendance at the telephone numbers listed below:
