It was all treats and no tricks when the Girl Scouts from Bellmore Troop 905 stirred up some kindness for Halloween. Senior citizens who attend EAC’s Hempstead Senior Community Service Center received a caldron filled with cookies, brownies and other treats for their Halloween party.
Educational Assistance Corporation’s Hempstead Senior Community Service Center is a home-away-from-home for seniors from the African American and Haitian communities. Bellmore resident Carol O’Neill, regional director for EAC’s senior and nutrition services, remarked, “We depend upon the generosity of people in our communities to provide extra goodies for the seniors throughout the year. It means so much to them to know that others are thinking of their well being.”
