Merrick
- First Squad detectives report the details of a fatal vehicle accident that occurred on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at 12:35 A.M. in Merrick. According to detectives, Michael Galloway Sr. of Freeport was operating a 2006 Yamaha motorcycle westbound on SunriseHighway at the entrance of the Meadowbrook State Parkway when he lost control and struck a sign. Aided was transported to NassauUniversity Medical Center where he was pronounced dead by hospital staff at 2:00 A.M. The vehicle was impounded for safety tests.
- The passenger side window of a 2003 saturn was broken while parked at the Merrick train station on September 13.
- A residence on Kirkwood Avenue, Merrick, was burglarized on September 8. Entry was gained through a pried basement window, and jewelry was stolen.
- A Bond Drive, Merrick, resident reports unknown persons broke the window of his 2007 Jeep on September 9 and stole an Apple iPod, Apple iPad and Garmin GPS.
