FREEPORT HIGH SCHOOL Naval Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) pose at the first Purple Heart Pups Family Festival at Five Towns Firefighters Training Center, just east of the Meadowbrook Parkway. Purple Heart Pups, a new nonprofit fundraiser established by Merrick Lions Club Foundation Inc., seeks sponsors to aid disabled, blind and amputee veterans through the work of America’s Vet Dogs and the National Amputation Foundation. contact Lisa Siano at lsianoesq@optonline.net or visit www.purpleheartpups.org.
