Postponing water tower meeting

By Laura Schofer   Thu, Jul 28, 2011

An update on rescheduled BZA Hearing for water tower.

Aqua's BZA Hearing on the proposed 158 ft Water Tower was officially postponed to August 10th today and another postponement is in the works.

Ella Stevens, president of the Wantagh-Seaford Homeonwers Association told The Citizen, "We have been advised that Aqua is prepared to request that their hearing be moved up from August 10th to October. WSHA will be there to ensure it is, in fact, postponed."

One of our strongest arguments was that this hearing should not be held in the middle of the summer when residents are on vacation. The extra time will allow for more residents to be apprised of the situation and to get involved. Also, we have also been told that Aqua is exploring alternatives to address the water pressure concerns they outlined at the July 12th meeting after seeing how outraged residents were to their proposal of this tower, added Ms. Stevens.
