Police Officer Maureen Roach from the public information office told Bellmore Life that the police are now looking at these two men for the rash of purse snatchings that took place over the last few months in Wantagh, the Bellmores and the Merricks.
According to detectives, two female victims, ages 41 and 64, were walking on Kuhl Avenue in Hicksville last Friday when they were approached from behind by Mr. Oguntunji.
He allegedly pulled three handbags from the 64-year-old woman and fled on foot towards Kansas Street, where Mr. Desir was waiting. The two men fled in a 2000 Nissan Maxima. Third Precinct police saw the vehicle a short time later and the men were placed under arrest.
Mr. Oguntunji lives in Westbury, while Mr. Desir lives in New Cassel.
