L & M Publications online
To paraphrase a advertisement I recently fell in love with: Readers surf the Internet but swim in newspapers.
It’s been a tough couple of years for us all, the economy not being what it once was and the world of technology changing every day – if you can’t roll with the tide (yes, another water reference) you’ll drown. In keeping up with the changes, L&M Publications, the parent company of this publication, welcomes you to our new online world.
Our web address has stayed the same but the look and functions of the website are completely different.
Readers are encouraged to comment on articles, give us feedback, share our stories with your friends on Facebook, Twitter or e-mail.
Our flickr.com page will play host to photos that don’t appear in the printed publication; and our YouTube channel will be able to provide videos which our news-pages obviously cannot.
As we continue to build our online presence and bring you our printed publication, readers will see a difference between the two outlets.
Since we can use the website and other online services to report the news as it happens, readers are encouraged to check the Internet frequently, bookmark us, make us your homepage, etc.
Our new website also offers the opportunity for viewers to subscribe to the site, for free! Signing up ensures that you will be kept up to date with ongoing news with a weekly newsletter (in the works!) to your e-mail inbox.
The Internet offers us so many chances to be your number one local news source – it’s very exciting! So get on your bathing suit and grab a long board and come surf online with us.
But don’t forget to swim in the pages of our newspapers. The pool of knowledge our pages bring weekly to your mailbox, along with our archives of local history, have become the community resource readers have waded in for over a half a century.– Erin Donohue
