Crime Report
Bellmore
- A resident of Judith Drive, Bellmore, reports the theft of car keys from the front seat of his 2008 Lincoln on August 3. Video surveillance recorded a black pickup truck leaving the scene. Seventh Squad detectives are investigating.
- A resident of Bellmore Avenue, Bellmore, found insurance cards on his front lawn while walking his dog on July 23. He investigated and discovered his 2009 Mercedes Benz ransacked and his iPod, cellphone and sunglasses stolen from inside.
- The owner of Viva Loco Restaurant, Merrick Road, Bellmore, reports the theft of a deep fryer and a hand truck from restaurant property on July 31 by an unknown black man, 5 feet, 10 inches, 180 pounds, 40-45 years old, no front teeth, wearing a red shirt, blue jeans, and a blue baseball cap. The man was driving an older model red truck with racks on the roof. Seventh Squad detectives are investigating.
- A woman reports the rear window of her 2003 Ford broken while parked in the driveway at Judith Drive, Bellmore, on August 5.
- A 2008 Infiniti’s tires and rims were removed and the car left on bricks while parked at the train station on August 8, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
- A 2000 Honda’s spark plug wires and ignition module were removed while parked at the LIRR station on August 8 between 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m.
- The front window of Newbridge Auto Body was cracked on August 10.
- The basketball hoop and stand on the west side of Dinkelmeyer Elementary School was broken on August 12.
- An unknown person poured sugar into the gas tank of a 2000 Pontiac Suburban parked in a driveway on Natta Boulevard on August 15.
- A 2007 Ford Edge was stolen from the driveway on Ruth Place on August 13. In the car were a blackberry, credit cards, infant car seats and golf clubs.©
- 2020 Companies on Newbridge Road was burglarized, and 26 computer notebooks were stolen.
Merrick
- A residence on Dogwood Street was burglarized between 10 p.m., on August 8, and 5:30 a.m. on August 9. The residence was occupied at the time of the burglary, and the victim’s pocketbook was stolen.
