Rains flood the Meadowbrook Parkway
Check out photos from today's rains.
The Merrick fire dept was summoned this morning to assist, and at one point rescue people trapped in their cars along the Meadowbrook parkway between Southern Parkway & Sunrise highway. Heavy rain throughout the night and this morning caused waist highwater causing dozens of cars to be trapped until the fire dept created a safe exit for the southbound and northbound cars onto various opposite direction lanes.
