Theodore Roosevelt Council of Boy Scouts of America toured Bellmore houses of worship today on a 6 1/2-mile hike designed to promote diversity within its Scouts, while strengthening their faith. A suitcase closed down King Kullen and Sunrise Highway late Friday afternoon while the Nassau County Bomb Squad investigated the contents, which included protruding wires. After two hours, the squad determined the contents as an erector set, a chemistry set and other household items. A similar suitcase closed Merrick’s Waldbaum’s shopping center the next day.
